Immigration Innovator Visa

If you have a genuinely innovative business idea, you are from outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), and you wish to set up your new venture in the UK, the Tier 1 (Innovator) Visa may be ideal for you. Our London based immigration lawyers can assist you with all matters relating to a UK Tier 1 (Innovator Visa).

At AQ Archers Solicitors, we understand that as an entrepreneur, your time needs to be focused on nurturing your business. We can manage your Innovator Visa application on your behalf, seeking input and advising you at key stages through the process. Our highly experienced Innovator Visa immigration specialists have assisted many entrepreneurs with preparing their UK Visa applications and overcoming any challenges which arise with the minimum of delay and inconvenience.

What is the Tier 1 (Innovator) Visa?

The Tier 1 (Innovator) Visa, which has replaced the Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Visa, was introduced in March 2019 to enable experienced overseas business people to bring their innovative ideas to the UK and set up in business. What separates the Innovator Visa from the Start-up Visa, is that the former is geared towards experienced business people who have the acumen to setup and scale-up their business quickly. Successful applicants will be allowed to remain in the UK for an initial three years, after which they will be able to apply to extend for a further three years. After five years, Tier 1 (Innovator) Visa holders will be eligible to apply for permanent residency.

Am I eligible for the Tier 1 (Innovator) Visa?

In order to apply for the Tier 1 (Innovator) Visa, you will need to meet a number of criteria as defined by the UK Home Office, including that you:

  • Have a business idea which is new and viable
  • Have a business idea endorsed by an approved body
  • Have a minimum of £50,000 to invest
  • Meet the English language requirements (by passing an approved English language test or by having a recognised degree, masters, or PhD taught in English)
  • Have sufficient funds to support yourself (£945 in your bank account for 90 consecutive days before you apply).
  • If you are unsure if you meet the eligibility criteria, it is important to seek the advice of an immigration Solicitor before submitting your application. Doing so will provide you with the confidence that your application has the best chance of success.

Why should I engage AQ Archers to assist with my Innovator Visa application?

What separates AQ Archers from many other immigration firms is our understanding of the commercial world. Our Innovator Visa Solicitors are businesspeople first and foremost and take great pride in assisting others to come to the UK to realise their business dreams. We understand what the UK Home Office is looking for from prospective applicants, and where we see a potential weakness in your business plan, we will quickly advise you on the steps necessary to resolve it.

Our team also understands that you have enough to deal with in terms of refining your new business idea, securing finance and premises, finding suppliers, and all other aspects of setting up your new operation. You can be assured that by using our services, we will lift the burden of securing the necessary immigration clearance from your shoulders, allowing you the opportunity to focus on what is truly important.

Can AQ Archers assist with the refusal of an Innovator Visa?

Yes, we have assisted many applicants who have had their Visa applications refused, to secure a positive decision. Because our team have a forensic knowledge of the guidelines followed by endorsing entities and Home Office case officers, we will focus in on the problem area/s, and recommend a plan of action to resolve the matter, whether this is in the form of a resubmitted application, appeal, Administrative Review, or a Judicial Review. In our experience, most adverse decisions are quickly overturned when we write to the Home Office to robustly challenge a decision made.
