What separates the Innovator Visa from the Start-up Visa, is that the former is geared towards experienced business people who have the acumen to setup and scale-up their business quickly. Successful applicants will be allowed to remain in the UK for an initial three years, after which they will be able to apply to extend for a further three years. After five years, Tier 1 (Innovator) Visa holders will be eligible to apply for permanent residency.
